More than 300 first time entrants have been attracted to the 2015 New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards. The New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards attract farmers from across the country, working in all levels of the dairy industry and this year a total of 532 across three categories have entered. The awards showcase and support passionate farmers of the future. The Awards aim to help people progress their career in the dairy industry and encourages regional suppliers to support diary industry excellence in their local areas.

I.S. Dam Lining has joined as regional sponsor in Hawkes Bay/Wairarapa, Manawatu, Canterbury/North Otago and Southland/Otago, and are looking forward to expanding their involvement in the future.

“Our business is proud to be involved and the sponsorship evenings were a great opportunity to meet some of the contestants,” says Brook Newson, I.S. Dam Lining Technical Sales Engineer.

Competitors are assessed regionally by local judges that are experienced in all aspects of the rural industry. Regional winners from each of the three categories Sharemilker/Equity Farmer of the Year, Farm Manager of the Year and Dairy Trainee of the Year are announced at the regional awards dinners and progress on to the national final judged in May.

The three competitions give entrants the chance to earn a regional or national title and to share in substantial prize pools.

I.S. Dam Lining takes sustainability seriously and this year is proud to sponsor the Environmental Merit Award in Hawke's Bay/Wairarapa regions. Merit Awards are a highlight in each region and all entrants are eligible for these; judges are looking for a stand out performer in each category.

I.S. Dam Lining is the only Farm Dairy Effluent Accredited Liner in New Zealand. “We believe that protecting the environment is the way to creating a sustainable dairy industry and are looking forward to having an ongoing association with the New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards,” says Brook.
