Polylock

The HDPE to concrete connector strip

PolyLock is a rugged, durable HDPE profile that can be cast-in-place or inserted horizontally into wet concrete, leaving the welding surface exposed upon completion of concrete preparation. The embedment of anchor fingers provides a high strength mechanical anchor to the concrete, to which any HDPE membrane can be welded.

When properly installed and used with a geomembrane, PolyLock provides an outstanding barrier to leakage.

We advise using PolyLock where there is to be a connection to fresh concrete. For example access/mixing ramps in new effluent ponds or headwalls on water races.

Placement

PolyLock should be placed at least 300mm from any perpendicular surfaces to allow access for welding.

The subgrade at the edge of the concrete, should be well compacted to prevent settlement and finished flush with the top of the concrete to avoid undue stresses on the geomembrane.

Once the shape of the concrete slab and the position of the polylock have been established we cut and weld the PolyLock to form a continuous band that will be added to the concrete after pouring.

PolyLock retains its flexibility even when welded so there is little chance of damaging it even when handling a completed band.

The completed band is worked into wet concrete until it is flush with the finished surface. When the concrete is set the PolyLock is ready for welding to the HDPE liner.
